What to do in a Mental Health Emergency

Dealing with a mental health crisis or emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.

Mersey Care and North West Boroughs both has dedicated mental health crisis lines.

For people registered with a GP in Kirkby, you can access the Mersey Care crisis line on 0800 145 6570.

For all other areas across Knowsley, patients can contact the North West Boroughs crisis line on 0800 051 1508.

Kind to Your Mind also runs a 24/7 crisis helpline open to everyone. They can be contacted on 0800 051 1508.

All 0800 number are free from UK mobile and landline phones.

The Samaritans operate a free to call service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, if you want to talk to someone in confidence. Call them on 116 123 and then arrange to see a GP as soon as possible.

Call 999 if you or someone you know experiences a life-threatening medical or mental health emergency.
