Council of Governors Meeting

5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides treatment, support and guidance for a wide range of physical and mental health issues as well as learning disability services to people living in the boroughs of Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan.

The Council of Governors for a local mental health, learning disability and community health service provider is inviting the public to join them at their next quarterly meeting.

The meeting, which will take place on Wednesday 14th September at the Wigan Investment Centre, is an opportunity for prospective governors of 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to find out more about the organisation and hear about the valuable work of its Council of Governors. The Council of Governors is made up of elected and appointed staff and public governors from across all five boroughs served by the Trust – Knowsley, Halton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan. The meetings are open to Foundation Trust members and the public to come along and observe.

Trust Chairman Bernard Pilkington said: “Our Council of Governors have an important role in ensuring that the voice of the public, service users, carers and staff is used to inform the Trust’s decisions. They also help the Trust improve services and better meet the needs of the people who use them.

“We are looking for more people to join our Council of Governors to represent the different communities in our boroughs. So I’d encourage anyone who is interested in having a say in our services to come along on 14th September, where they can meet their local governors and find out what the role entails.”

The Trust’s Council of Governor Meeting will be held on Wednesday 14th September at Wigan Investment Centre, Waterside Drive, Wigan, WN3 5BA from 1.30pm to 4pm.
