Knowsley Community Diabetes Service Receives Award

We are pleased to announce that Knowsley Community Diabetes Service has been awarded a high commendation at the recent Quality In Care Diabetes Awards 2016 for its involvement in Hypo Awareness Week.
The Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes recognises rewards and shares innovative practice demonstrating quality in diabetes management, education and services for people with diabetes and their families and carers.
The community service received an excellence award for its proactive approach to raising awareness of Hypoglycaemia (otherwise known as a hypo – low blood sugar levels) via a social media campaign and for attendance at numerous locations across Knowsley.
NHS Knowsley Clinical Commissioning Group commissioned the Community Diabetes Service back in 2013. The award winning service provides specialist diabetes care, support and guidance at a number of sites throughout the borough.
The service now has over 2500 Facebook followers and provides daily updates to support its patients.
If you have diabetes and would like further information about the service, please contact your GP practice or search Knowsley Community Diabetes Service on Facebook.
